whats on my ipod right now

In case anyone cares (and I know theres a bunch who don't), these are the albums that are on high rotation on my ipod right now. Click on the links to take you to the myspace page if you want to hear them!

1. Why? Alopecia

I love this album. How do I describe? Kind of low key with attitude. I love the song "Good Friday" (The myspace page does it no justice actually).

2. She Wants Revenge - This is Forever

Wow this one is awesome, but dark and a bit of a bummer so be prepared.

3. MGMT - Oracular Spectacular

Soooo good. Yea I know I'm not giving you much to go on. I like the songs "Electric Feel" and "Kids"

4. New Young Pony Club - Fantastic Playroom

Just Fun!

5. Hercules and Love Affair - Hercules and Love Affair

So lovely....and happy. And each song is very different.

6. Fleet Foxes - Fleet Foxes

At first I wasn't sure about this album. But now, it makes me want to go live in a tent in the forest and listen to this on my ipod. Super mellow but enjoyable.

7. Cut Copy - In Ghost Colours

This album is awesome, but sometimes you can't tell if it's legit 80's music or current. It's current I assure you. You have no choice but to enjoy:

8. Teenagers - Reality Check

This is a funny album - especially the French accents. There's a lot of "bitch" and "fuck" in the lyrics.

9. Santogold - Santogold

This album pretty much put me over the edge. I think anyone can appreciate it. That means you too!

10. The Raconteurs - Consolers of the Lonely

This one surprises me as much as it does you. But you know what, this is a really good album and it's different from the others. It's Jack White, which actually was initially an inhibitor for me, but I have come to really appreciate his voice.

What albums are you guys checking out RIGHT NOW?

Oh, you don't want to know what I'm listening to. Juss a bunch of oldies. Todd Rundgren's Something/Anything? Master of Reality's self-titled album, Deep Purple In Rock and Tumbleweed Connection by Elton John. That's 'bout it.

Where do you find all these weird bands. I'm actually going to listen to some of this stuff right now.

I too have been listening to The Teenagers as of late. It is such a fun album. "Fuck Nicole" is an instant classic.

At the moment I am listening to Band of Horses, The French Kicks and The Blow, find the song Parentheses,it has to be the most fun song of the year. I will be checking out your suggestions.

new young pony club is super catchy. and i quite enjoy the newer MIA... however, having been on mat leave for the last 10 months, i really haven't listened to music all that much. But once i'm back at work, i'll be looking for new stuff.

I'm so out of touch with new music. Lately, can't stop listening to the Beastie Boys Instumental album, and a little bit of disco.

I'm just LOVING the disc you made me. I'm planning to listen to just that disc for the next little while...

But otherwise, the usual: A-HA. Lots of it. Scoundrel Days, Memorial Beach.

And some stuff on vinyl: John Lee Hooker (Endless Boogie), The Beatles (Revolver mostly), Trini Lopez (Live at P.J.'s), David Bowie (Let's Dance), Velvet Underground (Loaded), and a little bit of JJ Cale (Naturally).

I'm also totally out of touch with current music. But there just isn't enough time in life for all the great music, is there? I went off about this before, but it's true.

As you know and balked at - Portishead has a new album out. I was a fan when they were big back in the 90's so I bought it instantly. My current fave song is The Rip.

Also, Man Man is a great group, if you like Tom Waits - and I worship him.

And like we said the other night - I think I'm going to get into Prince for a little while.

Huh!
