Creepy Christmas!

This video does not come across the way I'd hope, but before I go any further take a look and keep your eye on Santa:

video

Yesterday after our weekly Monday morning meeting, my coworkers and I went downstairs to get a coffee and we were greeted by the usual clutter of Christmas trees and crap in our lobby that appears ever year (not shown in video, but directly to my left). But my buddy and coworker 'T' spotted something through the branches on the other side of the escalator. It was animatronics! A whole Christmas scene set up at the building's front window. There it was, a little deer nodding it's head. Santa turning to look around, an elf strangling itself with some Christmas lights.....Unfortunately the deer has already stopped moving (awh, he was really sickly and creepy looking) but you can see that Santa and some of the elves are still going strong.

Apparently these are old machines that are being displayed around the city that originally came from the Woodwards building. Kind of cool, but more creepy. I seriously couldn't stop laughing when I first saw them. It feels like we are working in a department store! Today when I saw the deer had stopped moving I actually squealed loud enough that my boss who was further down the escalator turned back and said "I thought that was you Robin!" How to explain that I was upset about a mechanical deer......

ANYWAYS, I secretly love crazy shit like this because it makes for a good story.

LOL I love creepy Santa. I love creepy things too because it's so much more entertaining than things that are tasteful.

I had a similar experience on the weekend. On the way home from the train station, my dad and I stopped at Tim Horton's, where they had a massive display outside with several tacky inflatable decorations. We both cracked up and I really should have taken a picture.
